Over the last two months, the team of ‘The Something Bigger Project’ (TSBP) in collaboration with Rasoi on Wheels Foundation, travelled to various locations within Delhi to provide meals to vulnerable populations who have been adversely affected due to the pandemic. On the 5th and 6th of June, TSBP hosted the ‘What Really Matters Fundraiser’ to raise funds for Rasoi on Wheels Foundation – a mobile kitchen service providing meal boxes to the less privileged. Due to the overwhelming support we received from all of you, we were able to raise INR 1, 13, 661 – an amount which has the potential of providing meals to thousands of underprivileged people.
Beginning on the 10th of June, members from our team and folks from the Rasoi on Wheels Foundation, travelled to the Pushp Vihar Government School and Neighborhood. We ensured at all times that a proper and hygienic environment was curated. All our members wore double-masks, protection gloves and maintained a reasonable distance while providing meals. Subsequently, our team-members reached Anupam Saket, Sainik Farms and the adjacent basti. Here, we were able to feed included labourers, guards, children and the residents of the basti. Our next target locations, IIT and Essex Farms signals. Here, we successfully distributed food kits and masks to over 50 children.
Over the course of these two months, our collaboration with Rasoi on Wheels Foundation has resulted in the distribution of 72 ration kits up until now and x meals in multiple locations all across Delhi.
